Don 'D.D'. Brown (b. 1947) Indian RIver School Artist, a formal student and colleague of A.E. Backus. Albert Backus mentored formal students, like D.D. Brown, as well as informal students, such as the Highwaymen. Early oil painting 'Backcountry Pines' on canvas, with A.E. Backus Gallery stamps on the back and original price. This is a rare, early example of Brown's close connection to Beanie Backus. A backcountry scene with beautiful peach clouds, a pine stand, reflection pond and dirt path .Signed lower right  20x24 inch (23 x 27 with frame)  Overall very good condition, minor stretcher lines visible.
